It's Saturday morning in sea change nation and I can smell the latte fumes wafting down the beach. Where to go? There are at least six cafes with complicated coffee menus, unblinkingly charging $4 a cup. There is nowhere to buy coathangers but there is a shop selling $420 velvet opera capes. Prosperous-looking older couples cruise restaurant windows, murmuring about chef's hats. Later in the day I spot them, skin sloughed and glowing after a trip to the day spa, drinking champagne at the wine bar ...
