Cruise jobs can seem quite romantic, yet it isn't a lifestyle that suits everyone. While there are certainly benefits to cruise jobs that you cannot find in many other career paths, cruise jobs can take their toll on people who are not prepared to be separated from home for long stretches of time.
While obviously not as harsh, if you are interested in taking on cruise jobs, you should be prepared for a near militaristic lifestyle. You will often be away from family and friends, will likely need to stick to a strict routine, and will have very little rest from the customers you are serving. Even in your leisure time, you will be expected to maintain a certain level of decorum.
